Jakob Martin and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Vergelte Weintraube under the command of Skipper Anderson.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Martin was a butcher while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Martin came from the German village of Laubenheim in the Kurmainz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Martin family among the Volga German colonies.
