Discussion & Documentation

Widow Anna Maria Behrens, a farmer's wife, and her children settled in the Volga German colony of Chasselois on 2 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.

Following the destruction of Chasselois, the Behrens family relocated to the colony of Louis.

The 1767 census records that Anna Maria Behrens came from the German village of Liebau in the Schlesien region.
