Two Wahler families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.
(1) Georg Wahler, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and daughters (Margaretha, age 8; Sabina, age 6) arrived in Oranienbaum.
The surviving daughter (Maria Magdalena [sic], age 12) is recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 51 along with the Georg Schubert family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Wahler and Schubert families. [See Schubert Family.]
(2) Johann Wahler, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived in Oranienbaum. It is not know what happened to them after arrival in Oranienbaum.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that both of these Wahler families came from the German region of Franken (Franconia).
There are no known surviving male lines of this Wahler family among the Volga German colonies.
