Discussion & Documentation

Georg Wahler, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.

The parents died after arrival in Russia. The surviving daughter settled in the Volga German colony of Pfeifer and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 51 along with the Georg Schubert family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Wahler and Schubert families.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Wahler came from the region of Franken (Franconia).
