Discussion & Documentation

Elias [Klaus incorrect] Blank and his brother Jakob arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Catharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Janson.

Elias and Jacob Blanc [sic] are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya (Household No. 67) with a note that they relocated to the Volga German colony of Näb in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Johann Elias Blank came from the German region of Berlin.
