Johannes Maierhöfer, his wife, and his daughter immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) in 1762. They are last recorded in Denmark on 24 April 1765.
They joined the migration to Russia and settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 12 April 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 1 with Johannes Maierhöfer (recorded as Meer Tefer) noted to be the colony's mayor (Vorsteher).
The 1767 census records that Johannes Maierhöfer came from the German village of Menzingen [Cyrillic looks like Melzingen].
There are no known surviving male descendants of this Maierhöfer family among the Volga German colonies.
