Ludwig Günther, a farmer from Württemberg, and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) in 1762.
They joined the migration to Russia and settled in the Volga German colony of Holstein on 2 May 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 30 [erroneously recorded with the surname Heider].
In 1790, Christoph Balthasar Günther moved from Holstein to Kraft.
The 1767 census records that Ludwig Günther came from the German village of Oberlind [?].
