Olomouc (city), Czech Republic

For several centuries, Olomouc (German: Olmütz) was located in the Austrian Margraviate of Moravia. After the collapse of the Austrian Empire in 1918, Czechoslovakia was founded and the majority population of the town became Czech. In 1945-1946, the remaining German-speaking population was expelled.
