Discussion & Documentation

Christian Hefter, a farmer, and his wife Eva arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Rosenheim on 27 June 1767 where Christian is recorded as a widower on the 1767 census in Household No. 68.

The 1767 census records that Christian Hefter came from the German village of Festsolzig in Sachsen (Saxony).

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
