Christoph Carle, son of Zacharias & Catharina Barbara Carle, was baptized 16 January 1731 in Heilbronn. He married in Obergimpern on 19 February 1762 to Jacobina Maurer, daughter of Johann Jacob & Anna Maria Maurer. Jacobina Maurer had been baptized on 19 February 1736 in Kirchhardt.

Christoph Carl [sic], his wife Jacobina, and daughter Anna Jacobina arrived in Flensburg on 9 June 1762. The baptism of a son Georg Peter Ludwig Carle is recorded on 15 February 1764 in the parish register of Kropp [Denmark].

They deserted the Danish colonies on 27 June 1764 and joined the migration to Russia.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 28 August 1765. Christoph Karl, a farmer, and his wife Jakobina are on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 11.

Christoph Karl and his family (sons: Wilhelm, age 28; Johann Friedrich, age 16) are recorded on the 1798 census of Balzer in Household No. Bz042.

The death of Wilhelm Karle [sic] from Balzer in 1805 is recorded on the 1811 census of Straub in Household No. 56 where a note that he and his sons (Johann Heinrich, age 13½; Johann Konrad, age 11; Johann Michael, age 8) had arrived in Straub from Balzer in 1803.

Johann Michael Karle [sic] and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Straub in Household No. 86.

Ludwig Karl, presumed son of Christoph Karl, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Balzer in Household No. Bz012.

The Eichhorns record that Christoph Karl [sic] came from the German region of Kurpfalz (bei Heilbronn). The 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Löwenstein.
