Martin Knoll, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.
Martin Knoll was traveling with a group of families that settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus and is therefore believed to be the same as the Martin Ohl who is recorded arriving in Kukkus.
Martin Ohl (age 65) and his wife Christina (age 62) settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus on 26 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 51.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Martin Knoll came from the German region of Solms. The 1767 census records that Martin Ohl came from the German district of Hanau.
There are no known surviving male descendants Knoll / Ohl family among the Volga German colonies.
