Jakob Meier, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the Skipper Paul Adam Drath.
Jacob Mäyer [sic] and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 5 September 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 74 along with his new wife Anna Maria.
There is a Jacob Meier & Anna Maria Müller who were married on 20 May 1766 in Roßlau. If this is the same family recorded above, it is not known why they were recorded separately arriving in Russia.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Meier came from the German village of Trochtelfingen near Fürstenberg in Schwaben (Swabia).
