Adam Schultheis, a locksmith (Schlosser), and his family are recorded on the appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 29 along with a note that they resettled to the Volga German colony of Susannental in 1768.
The 1767 census records that Adam Schultheis came from the German village of Wellstein in Hessen.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schultheis family among the Volga German colonies.
