Mattias Boos, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and son Johann (age 2¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.
Johann Mattias Boos and his wife Katharina Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Kukkus in Household No. 16. They had settled there on 26 June 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Mattias Boos came from the German region of Pfalz. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Albig in the Kurpfalz.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Boos family among the Volga German colonies.
