Heinrich Baum, a farmer, and his wife Eva settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 1 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Baum came from the German village of Windesheim in the Mittelpfalz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Baum family among the Volga German colonies.
