Discussion & Documentation

Hans Georg Krebs, a farmer, his wife Maria Sibilla, and daughter Maria Elisabeth (age ½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Galka in Household No. 28. They had settled there on 12 April 1766.

The 1767 census records that Hans Georg Krebs came from the German village of Klitten in the Württemberg region. A researcher named Albert reports on the forum of wolgadeutsche.net that this Krebs family came originally from Knittlingen in Baden-Württemberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
