Johann Wilhelm Frank, a farmer and son of Maria Katharina Frank, and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in the city of Schleswig on 14 April 1761.
They voluntarily left the colony of Friderichsau in 1763 and joined the migration to Russia.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Galka on 1 July 1765 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.
The 1767 census records that Johann Wilhelm Frank came from the German village of Rastatt.
