Heinrich Matthisen [sic], a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Reinwald on 14 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13.
Konrad Mattheis, presumed of Heinrich, and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Reinwald in Household No. Rw11.
The death of Konrad Mattheis in 1831 is recorded on the 1834 census of Reinwald in Household No. 86.
The 1767 census records that Heinrich Matthisen [sic] came from the German village of Geisburg in the Darmstadt region.
