Johann Valentin Gerstung, son of Nicolaus Gerstung & Maria Anna Teugel, was born 1 April 1745 in Seiferts.

The marriage of Valentin Gerstung from Seifferts near Fulda & Hedwig Block from Blanckenau is recorded in the parish register of the Lutheran Church in Büdingen on 26 April 1766.

Hedwig Plock [sic], daughter of Johannes & Anna Maria Plock, wa born 2 March 1745 in Hainzell (part of the parish of Blankenau).

Valentin Gerstung from Seiferts is recorded in a list of emigrants with official permission to emigrate to Hungary in 1766.

Valentin Gerstrung [sic], a farmer, and his wife Jadwiga Plock arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov.

Valentin Gerstrung [sic], a farmer, and his wife Jadiga [sic] Plock are recorded on the 1767 census of Köhler in Household No. 78. They had arrived in Köhler on 21 August 1767.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Valentin Gerstrung [sic] came from the region of Fulda.
