Discussion & Documentation

Johann Peter Trünckler [sic] & Anna Margaretha Krähmer were married on 13 June 1766 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Peter Trumpler and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier. [Anna Margaretha Krämer is believed to be the daughter of Heinich Krämer with whom they arrived in Oranienbaum.]

Peter Trumler [sic] and his wife Anna Margaretha are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Anna Margaretha died in route.

Widower Peter Trümpler [sic] is recorded on the 1767 census of Susannental in Household No. 35 along with orphan Georg Philipp Krämer (age 15) [believed to be the brother of his late wife]. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Trumpler was a tailor while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.

The 1767 census records that Peter Trumpler came from the German region of Hohensalza [today in Poland].

There are no known surviving male lines of this Trumpler family among the Volga German colonies.
