Matthias Friedrich Kohlberg, a single weaver (Weber), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Nord Stern under the command of Skipper Detlev Belling.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Kraft on 18 August 1767 along with his new wife, Anna Elisabeth.
In 1788, Friedrich Kohlberg and his family moved from Kraft to Dreispitz.
The 1767 census records that Friedrich Kohlberg came from the German village of Praizio [?] in the region of Prussia.
