Ebert Klaas, a farmer, and his wife Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16 along with their 9-month-old son, Nikolaus.

The 1767 census records that Ebert Klaas came from the German village of Amersfoort.

There are no known suviving male lines of this Klaas family among the Volga German colonies.
