Gerhard(t) (Brabander)
Mathias Gerhard, servant of Georg Monschau, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard the galliot Der Jan under the command of Skipper Markus Dragun.
Matthias Gerhardt is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with the Monschau family.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 19 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 62 along with the Georg Monschau family.
This Mathias Gerhard is believed to be the Friedrich Gerhard that is recorded on the 1798 census of Franzosen (Household No. Fz23) because this Friedrich's descendants use the name Mathias. The descendants of this Friedrich/Mathias Gerhard relocated to the colony of Neu-Kolonie, and continue there.
Neither the Oranienbaum passenger list nor the 1767 census record from where Mathias/Friedrich Gerhard came.
