Georg Glasony, a painter (Maler), his wife Christina, and daughter Anna (age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard a barque named Der Junge Mattias (The Young Mattias) under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 1 July 1767. Georg Klusoni [sic] (age 35), a cobbler (Schuhmacher), his wife Christina (age 25), and daughter Maria Katharina (age 3-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dehler in Household No. 13.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Glasony came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Georg Glasony came from the village of Berenbach in the region of Kurmainz. Berenbach is actually located in a region that was historically administered by the Electorate of Köln (German: Kurköln). Researcher Anonymous2 reports that this family came from the German village of Bauerbach near Marburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
