Dominikus Mattias, a farmer, his wife Christina, and daughter Maria (age 2¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Rehder.
Dominik Mattias (age 50), a farmer, his wife Anna Christina (age 46), and daughter Maria Theresia (age 3) are recorded on the 1767 census of Köhler in Household No. 8. They arrived in Köhler on 10 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Dominikus Mattias came from the German region of Elsass (Alsace). The 1767 census records that Dominik Mathien came from the village of Stassburg in France.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Mattias family among the Volga German colonies.
