Widow Katharina Hilgenbacher settled in the Volga German colony of Reinwald on 14 July 1766. She is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22 along with her son-in-law, Ludwig Kiebler.
There are no known surviving male descendants of the Hilgenbacher family, so this surname does not continue among the Volga German colonies.
