Johannes Pfundner, a soldier (Soldat), and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Herzog on 14 July 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17 along with his stepson Heinrich Arnst.
Regina Arnst née Lederhos, widow of Heinrich Arnst, remarried on 17 June 1790 in Herzog to Leonhardt de Patiste. She and their two daughters (Maria, age 18; Margaretha, age 12) [eroneously recorded with the surname of Pfundner] are recorded on the 1798 census of Louis in Household No. Ls44.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Pfundner came from the German village of Cham in the Bayern region and that his wife came from the German village of Pilsheim bei Schmidmühlen in the Bayern region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Pfundner family among the Volga German colonies.
