Discussion & Documentation

Martin Christ, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 26 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27.

The 1767 census records that Martin Christ came from the German village of Krossau near Hohenzell.

There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants of this Christ family among the Volga German colonies.
