Friedrich Wilhelm Timmel, a single physician (Arzt), settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 195.
Friedrich Wilhelm Timmel, his wife Anna Magdalena née Hernkohl, and his mother-in-law Eleonora Hernkohl née Drewers (age 70) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 160.
The 1767 census records that Friedrich Wilhelm Timmel came from the German village of Militsch in the region of Schlesien (Silesia). The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register also records that he came from Militsch and that his wife Anna Magdalena née Hernkohl came from the German region of Hannover.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
