They settled in the Volga German colony of Shcherbakovka on 7 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 47.
The widow and children of Heinrich Schäfer are recorded on the 1798 census of Shcherbakovka in Household No. Sv13.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Schäfer came from the German region of Erbach. The 1767 census records that Andreas Schäfer came from the German village of Hofstetten.
