Ludwig Biske, a single baker (Bäcker), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 May 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census of Straub in Household No. 26.

The 1767 census records that Ludwig Biske came from the German village of Stargard in the Brandenburg region.
