Jakob Brandt, a farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Enders on 25 July 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 19 along with his wife Maria, their daughter Maria Dorothea (age 1), and stepchildren (Rosei [?] Engel Kelchner [?], age 6; Johann Georg Kelchner, age 3).
Joseph Brandt and Heinrich Brandt from Enders are recorded on the 1862 census of Gnadendorf.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Brandt came from the German village of Kengi [?] in the Holstein region and that his wife Maria came from the German village of Neustadt in the Wernburg region.
