François LeBrun, a plowman (laboureur), age 26 is recorded on a list of French colonists dated September 1764.

Franz LeBrun, a tailor (Schneider), settled in the Volga German colony of Franzosen on 28 July 1765. He and his wife Anna Maria Irina are recorded on the 1767 census of Franzosen in Household No. 12.

The 1764 list of colonists records that François LeBrun came from the French region of Comte. The 1767 census records that Franz LeBrun came from the French village of Vecoux.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
