Friedrich Kaweller (age 24), a weaver (Weber), arrived in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 109 along with his wife Charlotta (age 35) and her daughter, Gertruda Simpel (age 7).
Widow Charlotta Baumann (age 41) is recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 146. She is presumed to be the widow of Friedrich Kaweller.
The 1767 census records that Friedrich Kaweller came from the German village of Stockort [?]. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that widow Charlotta [Kaweller née] Baumann came from the German city of Hamburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
