Johann [Georg] Hetzel, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Gertrude, and daughter Margaretha (age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 20 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 77.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Georg Hetzel came from the German region of Würzburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Hetzel family among the Volga German colonies.
