Adam Hertz, a farmer, and his wife Dorothea arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

They are recorded on the list of Beauregard Recruits that accompanies the 1767 census in Household No. 136. This Adam Hertz is believed to be the husband of widow Anna Hertz from Ober-Monjou who is recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn06.
The 1767 census records that Adam Hertz is from the German village of Elfeld [?] in the region of Mainz.
