Adam Hertz, a farmer, and his wife Dorothea arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 August 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Adam Hertz and his wife Dorothea are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They are recorded on the list of Beauregard Recruits that accompanies the 1767 census in Household No. 136. This Adam Hertz is believed to be the husband of widow Anna Hertz from Ober-Monjou who is recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn06.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Adam Hertz came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Adam Hertz is from the German village of Elfeld [?] in the region of Mainz.
