Vincent Hesselwander, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johann, age 20; Barbara, age 15) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Adler (Eagle) under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
Francis Hasselwanter [sic], a brush maker (Bürstenmacher), and his wife Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Keller in Household No. 62. They had arrived in Keller on 11 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Vincent Hesselwander came from the German region of Ansbach. The 1767 census records that Francis Hasselwanter [sic] came from the German town of München.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Hesselwander family among the Volga German colonies.
