Johanna Elisabeth Gottfried settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 167 along with a note that she had been widowed on 22 September 1767. Another note records that she is engaged to Johann Peter Mosel of Household No. 106 who had been widowed on 8 November 1767.
The 1767 census records that Johanna Elisabeth Gottfried came from the German village of Kilianstädten in the Hanau region.
