Ferdinand Brochert, a clerk (Schreiber), and his wife Margaretha Koch settled in the Volga German colony of Franzosen on 26 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No 52.

The 1767 census records that Ferdinand Brochert came from the French village of Molbert [?].
