Discussion & Documentation
Joseph Ehse, a grinder (Schleifer), and his wife Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 11 September 1764 [this date is probably a translation error since Kamenka wasn't founded until 1765]. They are recorded on the 1767 census of Kamenka in Household No. 101 along with the single man Joseph Kindermann (age 24).
The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Ehse and Kindermann families.
The 1767 census records that Joseph Ehse came from Böhmen (Bohemia).
