Ignatius Glaser, a merchant (Kaufmann), and his wife Maria Katharina, the widow of Franz Wagner, settled in the Volga German colony of Herzog on 14 July 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21.

The 1767 census records that Ignatius Glaser came from  the German village of Kelheim in Bayern (Bavaria) and that his wife came from the German village of Memmingen in Bayern (Bavaria).
