Christian Weitzeld, a single tailor (Schneider), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Christian Weitzeld is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He is recorded on the 1767 list of Beauregard recruits in Household No. 162 along with a note that he settled in the Volga German colony of Bettinger in 1768.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Weitzeld came from the German region of Franken (Franconia) while the 1767 census records that Christian Wenzel [sic] came from the German village of Rheinweiler.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
