Kornelius Reinhold Nickel and his wife Maria Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 10 September 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 56.

The 1767 census records that Kornelius Reinhold Nickel came from the German town of Danzig.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Nickel family among the Volga German colonies.
