Franz Nodler [sic], a farmer, his wife Dorothea, and children (Maria, age 18½; Johann, age 10¼) arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 May 1766 aboard a pink named Новая Двинка (New Dvinka [a river in Russia]) under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 25 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Franz Nodler [sic] came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Franz Nadler [sic] came from the German village of Oberroth in the Kurmainz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Nodler family among the Volga German colonies.
