There are two Konrad Krüger families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the Der Junge Mathias under the command of Skipper David Wollert and settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 20 June 1767. They are assumed to be father and son, but this relationship is not recorded in the documents.
(1) Konrad Krüger, a farmer, his wife Maria, and children (Nikolaus, age 20; Georg, age 13; Dorothea, age 6) arrived in Oranienbaum. Konrad (age 50), Maria Elisabeth, and their sons are recorded on the 1767 census of Göbel in Household No. 65.
(2) Konrad Krüger, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and mother-in-law Anna [surname not recorded] arrived in Oranienbaum. Konrad (age 28) & Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Göbel in Household No. 66.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that both of these Krüger families came from the German region of Braunfels. The 1767 census records that they came from the German village of Beselich [?] in the Braunfels region.
