Ludwig Bille [sic], a carpenter (Zimmermann), and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
Ludewig Bille and his wife Johanna are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Bettinger on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there [with surname Pille] on the 1767 census in Household No. 12.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Ludwig Bille [sic] came from the German region of Dessau. The 1767 census does not record from where he came.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
