Adam Popp, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and children (Johann, age 19; Michael, age 14; Adam, age 10¼; Johannes, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Kronverk under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Ilyin.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 20 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Adam Popp came from the German region of Würzburg. The 1767 census records that Adam Popp came from the German village of Kervenheim in the Würzburg region.
