Three Unkelbach individuals arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs additional research.
(1) Gertrude Unkelbach, wife of Martin Veit, is recorded on the 1767 census of Göbel.
(2) Elisabeth Unkelbach, wife of Michael Wunderlich, is recorded on the 1767 census of Göbel.
(3) Johann Unkelbach, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and daughter Maria (age 8). They settled elsewhere in Russia.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Unkelbach came from the German region of Hanau.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Unkelbach family among the Volga German colonies.
