[Johann] Adam Franz, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 20 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Adam Franz was a cobbler (Schuhmacher) while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.
