Discussion & Documentation

Heinrich Gausch, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a pinque named Slon (Elephant) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.

Johann Heinrich Gausch, a single man, is recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 61 along with the Adam Koch family. The census does not record a relationship between the Koch and Gausch families.

The 1798 census of Huck records Heinrich Gausch from Norka in Household No. Hk77.

Heinrich Gausch and his family are recorded on the 1811 census of Huck in Household No. 77.

In 1863, descendants of this family from Huck relocated to the daughter colony of Brunnental.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Gausch came from the German region of Isenburg.
