Johann Georg Jäger, a farmer, his wife Anna Christina, and sons (Konrad, age 20; Johann Just, age 18; Johann Gerhard, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767. Widow Anna Christina and her sons (Johann Jost, age 18; Johann Gerhard, age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Krasnoyar in Household No. 9.

In 1788, Christoph Jäger and his family moved to the Caucasus.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that this Jäger family came from the German region of Laubach.
